Jamie was brought up in the city of Invercargill, New Zealand, which is all the way at the bottom of the country in what all Southlander’s know in their hearts is really the best bit. He finished school as the Dux, and went on to study Law, Maths and Sciences at the University of Otago. Being seduced by the Arts (and horribly bored by the sciences), he switched to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics and finished up with a Degree in Arts as well as a Law Degree (and most of a degree in the Physics and Maths).

His first job proper job was as an Investigator at the NZ Commerce Commission where the day to day involved dealing with company CEO’s and partners in law firms in the course of monitoring merger activity in the Commission’s semi-judicial role as market regulator. In the course of that job he oversaw the country’s biggest merger in financial terms (between two banks) as well as numerous other high profile investigations.

After almost two years at the ComCom he was lured to Kuala Lumpur to join a startup post production house, initially as a Producer and Head of New Business, but was quickly promoted to Executive Producer. After a year of that he was again poached, this time by his favourite client, Passion Pictures, where he learnt the ropes of film production and quickly made a name for himself as a producer of consummate skill, patience and diplomacy.

Six years later and with an impressive track record over a diverse range of projects he moved to Bangkok to join another start up, this time Indigo Asia Productions, where for five years he plied his wares as EP and Head of Production. In the course of this role he managed hundreds of diverse people from diverse backgrounds as they came together to achieve a common end, on time and within budget, and most importantly, made it all look easy.

After all that he decided it was time to kick off and do it his own way, and so formed Deluxe in 2016 with his long time producing partner Golf. For the last six years they’ve had the distinction of working on a raft of top tier projects, and are always on the lookout for opportunities to do good work.
